Thanks to images posted on MobileFun.co.uk (via Cult of Mac) of cases made by Olixar, it seems that it has been “confirmed” that USB-C will indeed be part of the new iPads. It should be noted that Olixar has in the past shared renders of upcoming iOS devices which have later been proven to be true, so it is possible that these images could be accurate.
Plus given all that we’ve heard, it doesn’t really come as a surprise that the rumors are true. After all when there’s smoke, there’s usually fire. Making the switch to USB-C would be a huge deal for Apple, although some are speculating that the switch to USB-C could allow for users to connect the iPad Pros to higher resolution external displays, which in turn could also allow the tablet to charge, similar to the setup that many MacBook Pro users are doing with their laptops and external monitors.
In any case take it with a grain of salt, but we should have all the official details tomorrow so check back with us then for more updates.
