SoundHound looks like they might be getting their wish as Honda has announced that they will be incorporating SoundHound’s Houndify AI platform into its cars. Digital assistant integration into cars aren’t new and we’ve seen efforts from Apple, Google, and Amazon where they try to get their own platforms integrated into various car brands and models, so this partnership with Honda is no doubt a pretty big win for SoundHound.
Honda is not the first to use SoundHound’s platform for their cars as other carmakers such as Hyundai and Kia had earlier used Houndify. From what we can tell from early videos of the digital assistant in action, it seems to be pretty good at understanding natural language as well as processing more complex queries which should contribute to a better overall user experience.
According to Keyvan Mohajer, co-founder and CEO of SoundHound, “Our Houndify Collective AI is a natural fit for automotive brands that aim to provide voice AI to drivers while differentiating, innovating and retaining ownership of their brands. We are thrilled to partner with Honda to further enhance the driving experience with the fastest and most accurate voice and AI technology on the market.”
