Spotted by Android Police on Google’s website, it appears that Google has accidentally confirmed the existence of the Google Home Hub which we imagine will be announced later today alongside the new Pixel 3 smartphones. For those hearing about the Home Hub for the first time, it’s basically a Smart Display with Google’s branding on it, similar to the Google Home, Home Mini, and Home Max.
In fact the device’s existence hardly comes as a surprise especially in the smart speaker market where Amazon and Google seem to be shadowing each other’s steps perfectly. However there is a difference from the Home Hub compared to the JBL Link View and Amazon Echo Show, and that is it won’t feature a camera, meaning that you won’t be able to make video calls with it.
The pricing of the device has also been revealed to cost $149 which also makes it cheaper than JBL and Lenovo’s offerings. In any case we should have more details later in the day so check back with us then for more updates.
