However in Dropbox’s case, it seems that they have opted to go down a slightly different path by scanning your images for text. What this means is that you’ve scanned in a document as an image, Dropbox will be able to scan that image for text, which means that you’ll be able to search for those images the same way as you would text-based files.
That being said, this feature isn’t available to everyone just yet. According to Dropbox, the feature will be rolled out over the course of the next few months where it will be initially available to Dropbox Professional customers. For Dropbox Business Advanced and Enterprise team admins, they can enroll for early access if they’re interested in taking a look at this feature. Also for now it seems that it will only work for English text, so if you have files with text in another language, perhaps support will come at a later date.
