Unfortunately it looks like Evans is done with his role as the first Avenger. This is according to a tweet by the actor in which he revealed that filming on the Avengers 4 movie has officially wrapped. He also penned a short and heartfelt message about how he has felt playing as Captain America all these years, which if anything sounds like a goodbye.
Officially wrapped on Avengers 4. It was an emotional day to say the least. Playing this role over the last 8 years has been an honor. To everyone in front of the camera, behind the camera, and in the audience, thank you for the memories! Eternally grateful.

That being said, Evans’ exit as Captain America doesn’t really come as a surprise. The actor had previously hinted that he would most likely not be renewing his contract with Marvel where in an interview with The New York Times, he was quoted as saying, “You want to get off the train before they push you off.”
It is possible that he could appear in future Marvel movies, but maybe we shouldn’t get our hopes up just yet. The Avengers 4 movie which has yet to be officially titled is set for a release in 2019 following Captain Marvel, whose appearance was teased in the after credits scene of Avengers: Infinity War.
