Google Assistant is perhaps one of the most useful digital assistants out there. The company continues to add more functionality to it so that it can do more for you in response to voice commands. It has added a new feature today which will let you book rides with Google Assistant.

You will now be able to book a ride through Google Assistant on an Android smartphone, iPhone, Google Home or any smart speaker with Assistant. All you need to do is say “Hey Google, book a ride to the Denver International Airport,” for example.

Assistant will then provide a list of popular ride services to choose from which include Uber, Lyft, Ola, Grab, GO-JEK, and others. It will also provide information on estimated pricing and wait times from each service.

It will also be possible to get ride options from a specific service. Just add that provider’s name in the command itself. Say “Hey Google, book a Lyft to SFO,” for example, and you will only be presented with options from Lyft.

Once that’s done, grab your device and tap on the preferred service. The app will open to let you confirm the booking. This feature is available in English first and in all countries where any of the supported ride service partners operate. The feature will be expanded to more languages in the coming months.
