NVIDIA RTX 2070 Release Confirmed For October 17th


With launch preparations for the GeForce RTX 2080 and RTX 2080 Ti out of the way, NVIDIA is now focusing on the GeForce RTX 2070. Benchmarks of this graphics card are yet to arrive but it’s evidently going to be a powerful option for those in the market for a new card. NVIDIA has confirmed that the more affordable GeForce RTX 2070 will be released on October 17th.

The company has confirmed through the official Twitter account for GeForce that the RTX 2070 will be available for purchase starting October 17th. Based on the company’s Turing architecture, this graphics card is claimed to offer a substantial performance gain in ray tracing compared to the previous generation. This particular card will be considered by a vast segment of gamers who are looking to upgrade their rigs due to its more affordable price.

Prices for the card start at $499 while the Founders Edition costs $599. The latter has a boost clock capable of reaching up to 1710 MHz compared to the standard card’s 1620MHz. All RTX 2070 models have 1410MHz base clock with 8GB GDDR6 memory and memory speeds of up to 14Gbps.

The Founders Edition is cooled by two 13 blade fans and a newly designed vapor chamber. The standard and Founders Edition have a power rating of 175W and 185W respectively. The video outputs include HDMI, USB Type-C, DVI-DL, and DisplayPort.
