Veronica Mars, a show that refuses to die, is coming back. It has been confirmed today that a new Veronica Mars season will premiere on Hulu next year as the show has been picked up by the streaming service. It was first reported back in August that Hulu was working to revive the show.
The confirmation comes from lead star Kristen Bell who announced on Twitter that existing episodes are coming to Hulu for on-demand streaming. Fans who subscribe to Hulu will be able to rewatch the series in due course, “which is great, because you’ll need to brush up, because we’re making another one!,” said Bell.
The story involves a mystery “that pits the enclave’s wealthy elites … against a working class that relies on the cash influx that comes with being the West Coast’s answer to Daytona Beach,” according to Hulu.
Hulu is making a limited, eight episode season of Veronica Mars. It will follow Mars as she gets hired to investigate a string of murders involving spring breakers. Hulu hasn’t provided a confirmed release date for the show as yet but says that the new season will arrive at some point in 2019. The existing three seasons and the movie will all start streaming on the service next summer.
