Neato is well regarded for its robot vacuums and the company showed up with a couple of new ones at IFA 2018 in Berlin this week. It has launched the Botvac D4 Connected and Botvac D6 Connected robot vacuums at the convention in Berlin. The D4 is a replacement for the company’s existing D3 model and it comes with an updated look and feel in addition to some other improvements.
The Botvac D4 Connected offers an improved run time of 75 minutes and is compatible with Neato’s Quick Boost Charging feature. It enables the robot to ascertain on its own how much power is required to finish a cleaning job. It’s priced at $499.
Sporting a brushed metal look, the Botvac D6 Connected offers a 120 minute run time and comes with a Turbo mode which makes the brush rotate faster and increases suction. It has an upgraded brush for better cleaning against pet hair and allergens. It’s priced at $699.
Both of the new vacuums come with Neato’s LaserSmart mapping technology. It uses the robot’s lidar sensors to map the entire floor, allowing for improved navigation and cleaning. The company says that its vacuums can clean a room in 22 minutes on average compared to around the 70 minutes that its rivals take.
The Botvac D4 Connected and Botvac D6 Connected are both immediately available for purchase.
