Huawei is gearing up to launch its new flagship smartphone in the near future. The company has dropped a few hints about the device in the days leading up to its launch while it has already been confirmed that the device will be powered by Huawei’s latest chip, the Kirin 980. The latest teaser hints at the triple-camera setup on this upcoming flagship.
This won’t be Huawei’s first smartphone with three cameras at the back. The company has already done this before and it’s clearly sticking with the script for other flagship models as well. The short video teaser that it has released in China states that it’s time to “explore something new” as it outlines the rectangular rear triple-camera setup of the Mate 20 and Mate 20 Pro.
No details about the camera itself have been revealed in this teaser so it’s not known at this point in time how technologically advanced these new cameras are compared to Huawei’s existing triple-camera system.
Report’s suggest that the Mate 20 Pro could have a 40 megapixel main sensor coupled with a 20 megapixel monochrome sensor and an 8 megapixel sensor with a telephoto lens and 3x optical zoom. The resolution of the sensors may be slightly lower on the Mate 20 if the reports are to be believed.
One thing’s for sure, though, the Mate 20 and Mate 20 Pro will be very powerful in the camera department.
