OnePlus has been around for a few years now and its devices have become popular. The company has developed a bit of a fan following for itself and continues to churn out devices that are well received by its fans. It hasn’t opened its first proper retail store yet, though, but things might change a little this year as the company looks to open its first pop-up store in Paris.
OnePlus doesn’t have a retail operation like Samsung and Apple do, for example, but it certainly wants to be right up there with them in the smartphone market. For that, it’s going to need a retail presence. Pop-up stores are a great first-step, although they are far from being a brick and mortar store.
The company and its co-founder Carl Pei were present at IFA 2018 in Berlin earlier this week and even though no product announcements were made, Pei did reveal that OnePlus is going to open its first pop-up store in Paris soon.
The company has somewhat of a retail presence in the country courtesy of its partnership with carrier Bouygues which has the phone in 20 of its stores with more locations to be added later. Pei revealed that the company’s first pop-up store will be true to its ethos and that it will be open in time for the next major handset launch.
That would most likely be the OnePlus 6T that’s due in a couple of months. He also mentioned that the location will carry more than just smartphones which suggests that OnePlus would also be filling the shelves with some other products.
