We should point out that Evernote does not actually charge users and that there is a free tier for those who don’t need all the features of Premium, but like we said, if you think that the Premium features are for now, $42 a year doesn’t seem like too much to ask. However it should be noted that users will need to pay a year’s worth upfront, meaning that you can’t take that $42 price and divide it over the course of a year.
That being said, it is unclear if this price cut is permanent or temporary. A report from TechCrunch has revealed that the company has lost several of its executives just last month, including its CTO, CFO, CPO, head of HR, along with some engineers and designers. It is unclear as to what might be the reason behind this mass exodus of staff, so one has to wonder if this price cut could be Evernote’s way of trying to recruit more customers.
