Android 9.0 Pie Now Available For The OnePlus 6

The problem with Android updates is that sometimes Android handset makers can be a bit slow about releasing them. However the good news is that if you’re a OnePlus 6 owner, it seems like the company did not take long to release the update for the phone, which is now available roughly after a month of its official release.

Announced on the forums, OnePlus officially took the wraps off its OxygenOS 9.0 which is based on the Android 9.0 Pie update. It will come with all the features that one might expect from Android Pie, which includes an updated UI, new adaptive battery support, new gesture navigation (which can be disabled), updated security, and a bunch of other system improvements.

According to OnePlus, “This OTA will have a staged rollout. The OTA will be received by a limited number of users today and will have a broader rollout in a few days after making sure there are no critical bugs. Using VPN to download this build might not work as the rollout Is not based on regions and is randomly pushed out to a limited number of devices.”

There is no mention of when some of the older OnePlus handsets will get the update, but considering that OnePlus did previously promise that the OnePlus 3 and 3T will get the Android Pie update, we imagine that it is only a matter of time before the OnePlus 5 and 5T get their updates as well.
