Lenovo Thinkpad P1, P72 Laptops Announced

The problem with a lot of laptop workstations is that they generally focus on aspects such as durability, ruggedness, long battery life, and so on. However this can be quite a pain (literally) to bring around, which is why if you’re after something that’s probably easier on your back, you might be interested in Lenovo’s latest laptops, the ThinkPad P1 and P72.

Starting with the P1, this laptop is said to offer up a 35% size reduction from previous models. We’re talking about 18.4mm thin and weighing in at 3.76 pounds. It will come equipped with a 15.6-inch 4K display, and will be powered by NVIDIA’s Quadro P series GPU for work on certain tasks on the go. There will also be an 8th gen Intel Core processor, support for up to 64GB of RAM, and 4TB of onboard storage.

However if you need something a little more powerful, that’s where the P72 comes in. It will come with up to support for 6TB of storage, 128GB of RAM, and 16GB Intel Optane memory. There is also a larger 17.3-inch display and support for NVIDIA’s Quadro GPUs. As for pricing, we’re looking at prices starting at $1,949 for the ThinkPad P1, and $1,799 for the ThinkPad P72, and both laptops are expected to be available towards the end of August.
