If you just want a basic phone plan for your device that’s easy on your pocket then T-Mobile might have something for you. The carrier today announced its new Essentials plan which promises to fulfill the basic requirements of smartphone users for $30 per line for a family of four. T-Mobile Essentials really does include the basics. Subscribers will get unlimited talk, text, and data in the United States for $30 per line for a family of four with autopay.
The new plan doesn’t offer all of the extras that are included in the T-Mobile One plan which includes Netflix for families, travel benefits, unlimited mobile hotspot, and more. It starts at $40 per line with taxes and fees included for a family for four with autopay.
Magenta is able to deliver these cost savings by limiting video streaming quality to 480p. Subscribers on the Essentials plan will also be the first to see slower speeds at times and in places where there’s “heavy network demand.” Subscribers who use more than 50GB of data monthly will see further reductions in streaming quality and speeds.
T-Mobile Essentials will be available from the carrier’s stores nationwide starting August 10. It costs $60 for a single line, $30 for the second line and an additional $15 per line for lines 3-6, excluding taxes and fees with autopay.
