According to a survey conducted by Loup Ventures, it seems that almost half of current iPhone owners who were surveyed plan to upgrade their models. This is almost double that of the previous year where only 23% of those surveyed expressed interest in upgrading, but as Loup Ventures rightfully points out, intent to buy versus actually purchasing are two very different things, but the interest is still a good sign nonetheless.
Breaking that down even further, 42.7% of those who intend to upgrade plan to 2018’s iPhones. As expected, not everyone wants or needs the latest iPhones, and 17.53% state their intentions to upgrade to 2017’s iPhone X, while 16.49% plan to upgrade to the iPhone 8. The remainder 23.71% state that they plan to upgrade to another iPhone model that wasn’t listed in the survey.
That being said what we know about the 2018 iPhones now are based pretty much on rumors. Whether or not the actual devices will live up to the hype remains to be seen, but we’ll have to wait until the 12th of September (the rumored launch date) to find out.
