However the only drawback to the GameDAC is that it was only available as a bundle/combo with the Arctis Pro headset, but the good news for those who wanted the DAC by itself, it looks like SteelSeries is more than happy to oblige. The company has recently started to sell the GameDAC by itself, meaning that if you just wanted the DAC and not the headset, you now have that option.
This will give gamers the freedom to attach their own headphones or speakers to the DAC. According to SteelSeries, it will feature the use of the ESS Sabre DAC and will also offer up support for 96 kHz / 24-bit audio, and there will also be DTS Headphone:X v2.0 surround sound included.
The DAC also comes with a small display that will show users the settings that are currently configured. That being said, the GameDAC doesn’t exactly come cheap as it is priced at $150, but if you think it could be worth investing in, head on over to SteelSeries’ website to get your hands on it.
