Pandora’s music subscription service is available on Google Home speakers and Google Assistant-powered audio devices now. The service is called Pandora Premium and it provides subscribers with access to a vast library of tracks. It’s an on-demand music streaming service much like its rival Spotify and Apple Music.
Pandora Premium is far from the only music streaming service that’s accessible on Google Home and devices with the Google Assistant. Others include Google Play Music, YouTube Music, Spotify, and Deezer Premium.
Voice-activated devices like Google Home speakers are increasingly being used for music streaming and for multi-room audio setups. Pandora mentions that it has seen a 50 percent increase in usage on such devices in the last year so it makes for its service to expand to Google’s smart speakers as well.
Users can set Pandora Premium as their default music service in Google Home’s settings. They will then be able to stream music on demand with just voice commands. Users can request specific songs, albums, and playlists by voice command.
The service will also support some other features on the Google Home, such as asking Google to play a track if they just speak some of the lyrics. The current playing song can be given a thumbs up or down as well with voice commands.
