Blizzard has an incredible knack for storytelling, and they also have an amazing team that does the animation in which their stories get told through. In fact for those who loves Blizzard’s cinematics, you’ll be pleased to learn that the company has recently released its latest animated short dubbed “Shooting Star”.
This animated short features none other than D.Va where it also takes place in the city of Busan, South Korea. This is probably not a coincidence, especially when the 2018 Overwatch Summer Games are taking place in Busan this year round. The short is extremely well done, as expected from Blizzard, and is worth 8 minutes of your day.
Blizzard has been taking to releasing shorts and comics and stories to help tell the lore about the world of Overwatch. Given how the game is pretty much completely focused on multiplayer, there is no room in-game for storytelling, which is why these shorts come in handy for gamers who would love a bit of background on some of the characters in the game.
We expect that there will be more animated shorts released in the future that will cover other characters, but in the meantime for players who love D.Va, this could be worth checking out.
