Eidos Montreal is one of them as the developer has recently confirmed that they do not have plans to bring the new Tomb Raider game, Shadow of the Tomb Raider, onto the Switch. Speaking to GameSpot, lead game designer Heath Smith said that the studio is currently focused on bringing the game onto the PS4, Xbox One, and the PC, but he feels that the Switch isn’t necessarily the right fit for Shadow of the Tomb Raider right now, despite the fact that he is a big fan of Nintendo’s latest console.
Of course this could change in the future, but if you wanted to play any of the newer Tomb Raider games, it’s probably a better idea to play the game on a different platform for now instead of waiting for if and when it ever launches on the Switch. That being said, we have seen how some companies have backpedaled on their initial claims.
For example Capcom had initially not planned to bring Resident Evil 7 onto the Switch, but earlier this year they compromised by launching a cloud version of the game that could be played on the Switch.
