This is because the soundbar not only packed a set of speakers inside of it, but also an Android TV and support for Google Assistant. This means that not only could this be used as a soundbar, but it could be used as a set-top box, and also used to control smart appliances in your home (that are compatible with Google Assistant). The good news is that if this sounded like the perfect device, you’ll be pleased to learn that it is now available for pre-order via B&H.
When the JBL Link Bar was announced, pricing and availability was not mentioned. However according to the listing on B&H, it appears that the Link Bar will be released on the 16th of October and is priced at $400. However at that price, it does put it in competition with other similar soundbars, such as the Sonos Beam which comes with Alexa instead of Google Assistant.
Of course there is the added advantage of the JBL Link Bar that packs Android TV in it, which will come in handy if you do not own a smart TV, or if you prefer Android TV over whatever OS your smart TV comes with.
