That being said, not all users are experiencing the problem. Apparently this issue seems to mostly affect users who are updating using the OTA update and not manually using the IPSW file. According to reports, the sluggish performance comes from the lock screen being unresponsive, and apps taking several seconds to launch, all of which are disconcerting for users.
Now obviously given that this is a beta, we suppose bugs and hiccups like these are to be expected and hopefully Apple will be able to iron it out ahead of iOS 12’s release, which if Apple keeps to schedule, should be set for a release in September alongside their new iPhones. Last year’s iOS 11 release ran into similar issues where users were reporting sluggish performance after its release.
Apple eventually got around to fixing it, but issues like this could hamper the adoption of future iOS builds which we have been hearing has been slowing down a bit compared to previous builds.
