According to the company, they have confirmed that HTC’s phones from 2017 and 2018 are eligible for the update. This includes the HTC U11, U11 Plus, U11 Life, and the U12 Plus. We’re not sure if the company has plans to update its older devices at a later date, but in the meantime these are the phones that have been confirmed to receive the update.
Unfortunately while we do know that these phones are going to receive the update, HTC did not mention when the update will be released. This means that it could take weeks or even months before we see it. Given that some of Samsung’s mid-rangers are only expected to receive the Oreo update in 2019, like we said it could take any particular length of time.
Hopefully HTC will have a more concrete release date to share soon, but in the meantime we suppose it’s still good news that the update has been confirmed for these devices.
