The thing with Android phones is that the older they get, there is a lesser chance of them getting updated to the latest build of Android. This also applies to lower-end Android phones where companies might be more interested in catering to their flagship devices. Fortunately for Nokia users, they won’t need to worry about that.
In a tweet by the official Nokia Mobile account, it has been confirmed that the recently release Android 9.0 Pie update will be made available to all Nokia handsets. This includes the Nokia 3, 5, 6, and 8. However the company failed to mention when exactly the update will be rolled out, but the good news is that if you own any of these devices, you can look forward to it when it is available.
Hi, Android Pie will be available for the Nokia 3, 5, 6 and 8. Roll-out will be phased as usual to secure quality delivery. Nokia 7 Plus is part of the Android One program, which guarantees two years of software updates, including Pie.

That being said a recent report revealed that the update had already begun rolling out to the Nokia 7 Plus. However it turns out that wasn’t necessarily the case, but rather it was the beta 4 for the Android Pie update, but it’s still an indication that the phone will receive the update eventually.
So far Google’s Pixel devices have been the first to receive the Android 9.0 Pie update, but that was quickly followed by Essential who rolled out the update to the Essential Phone on the same day. Other OEMs are working to bring the update to their devices, so keep an eye out for them if you’re not a Nokia user.
