Battle royale titles like Fortnite and PUBG have been very popular over the past year. The former is available for the PlayStation 4 but the latter isn’t which means that Sony’s console owners are unable to play one of the top titles of the year. They will find some solace and choice now as another battle royale shooter, H1Z1, has been released for the PlayStation 4.
Daybreak Games has officially launched H1Z1 on PlayStation 4, completing weeks of open-testing for the title. It’s a free-to-play battle royale shooter that will have players battling it out to be the last player standing in the game.
The main difference between the test and the public version of the title is that there’s a lot more content in the latter than what was initially available in the beta. That’s to be expected from a finished version of a game anyway so it doesn’t come as a surprise.
Even though the game is free-to-play, there are many in-game purchases that players can get. This includes a $5.50 Fortnite-like Battle Pass which will unlock premium rewards. Cosmetic gear is available for purchase as well.
Fortnite remains the most popular title this year and it’s not likely that H1Z1 will threaten to takeover from the title on PlayStation 4. However, given that it had more than 10 million players during the open beta, one can expect quite a lot of PlayStation 4 owners to give this game a chance too.
