Prior to this, iPad users who wanted to use the app had to download the iPhone version of the app which was a scaled-up and obviously doesn’t look as good as it could be. However the updated version has been designed for the iPad in mind which means a redesign user interface that will allow it to take better advantage of the iPad’s larger display.
Apart from that, the features and functionality of the app should remain the same as all other versions of it. For those unfamiliar with Duo, the app was launched in 2016. It was launched alongside Allo which is Google’s answer to instant messaging, and was also a way to shift the use of Hangouts to enterprise users.
One of the upside of Duo compared to other video chat apps or even FaceTime, is that it offers users a live preview of the other person who is making the call, so that users can at least verify that it is the person who is calling them. The updated version of Duo is live and available via the iOS App Store, so head on over and update your app if you haven’t done so already.
