Google Assistant Voice Command Support Comes To Nest x Yale Lock

One of the biggest selling points of smart home devices is that they can be controlled remotely and through the devices that we always carry in our pockets these days. Smart locks have become increasingly common over the past few years and now Google is making it easier to control a particular one. It’s enabling Google Assistant voice support for the Nest x Yale Lock.

Yale, the iconic lock company, collaborated with Google’s Nest to launch the Nest x Yale Lock in January this year. It’s a smart lock that’s different from its rivals as it doesn’t have a keyhole anywhere.

It won’t lock you out, though, because it has a keypad. Users can thus set passcodes for guests with expiration times, receive alerts when the door is locked and unlocked, and even have their door lock automatically when Nest detects that they’re not home.

Google today announced that it’s going to launch a new integration for Google Assistant with the Nest x Yale Lock. The integration will let you use Assistant to check the status of the lock, remotely lock it, and even add it to a Routine. The core features would thus become accessible through voice commands.

The Google Assistant integration with the Nest x Yale Lock will begin rolling out tomorrow, according to the company.
