Now it looks like those features have since made their way onto Gboard. The feature was spotted in a beta release last month, but now it looks like the feature is live and available to all. Basically what this feature does is that it uses the front-facing camera of your phone to scan your face, after which it will then attempt to create a cartoon version of you which you can use as unique stickers to send to your friends in your messages.
There will also be variations of the stickers to represent different emotions. As 9to5Google points out, there will be 100 stickers styles based on your avatar with “Bold” or “Sweet” modes that users can choose from. It seems like a pretty fun and interesting feature to play around with, so if you’d like to check it out, obviously you’d need to have the latest version of Gboard installed.
If you don’t see it yet, not to worry as we imagine that the change should eventually find its way to all users over the next few days or week.
