Samsung will soon unveil its second new flagship smartphone of the year, the Galaxy Note 9. The announcement will take place on August 9th and it’s expected to be released later this month. A new rumor out of China claims that the Galaxy Note 9 is going to have the same camera as the Galaxy S9.
Samsung’s Galaxy S and Galaxy Note flagships often share many specifications, including but not limited to the processor. The company often improves the camera on the Galaxy Note flagship to make it stand out from the other flagship device.
We saw this happen last year as well when the Galaxy Note 8 came with a dual camera at the back even though the Galaxy S8 didn’t have one. However, if these latest whispers out of China are believed, then the Galaxy Note 9 may have the exact same camera as the Galaxy S9.
That’s going to be disappointing for those who were holding on to hope that perhaps the company will introduce some major improvements to the camera with the Galaxy Note 9. It’s already expected to retain its dual camera system at the back.
Samsung is likely saving its major camera improvements for the Galaxy S10 which is due next year. It’s expected to be the company’s first smartphone with a triple-camera system.
