Ahead of Nintendo officially announcing Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, it was hinted that the game could feature new characters. Sure enough this was true where we saw characters from the Splatoon series, along with Ridley from Metroid, and Daisy from the Mario series. However it seems that might not be all.
If you thought that was the entire roster for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, think again because according to recent reports, Nintendo could actually be adding more characters to the game. This is according to Redditor Hinata2000100 who discovered that the title track for the game had been changed (via Game Informer) to “Bloody Tears/Monster Dance”.
What’s the significance? For those who are unfamiliar, Bloody Tears and Monster Dance are songs that debuted in Castlevania II: Simon’s Quest on the NES. The title has since been changed back, but this has led to speculation that Nintendo could have a Castlevania-themed song which could indicate Castlevania characters or a level.
As Game Informer notes, it could simply be a song, but at the same time it could also be an indication that Castlevania characters might be coming to the game. Nintendo is expected to hold a Nintendo Direct event on the 8th of August at 7am PDT, so maybe we’ll get some kind of confirmation then.
