This is according to a statement issued by DICE, the game’s developer, where the company’s General Manager Oskar Gabrielson wrote, “We’re going to take the time to continue to make some final adjustments to core gameplay, and to ensure we really deliver on the potential of Tides of War. We know moving the launch date means that we all have to wait a little longer. But we’re going to take our time to make sure we get it right.”
While “final adjustments” seems to be DICE’s official stance, there are some who are speculating that the change in date could be because of the launch of Activision’s Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 which is set for the 12th of October, a week ahead of Battlefield V’s original release date.
Releasing such similar games back to back might not be the best idea as players don’t have the time to play both games at once, plus gamers might not want to spend too much money all at once. Either way gamers will just have to remain patient, but given that the delay is only a month long, all things considered it’s not too bad of a wait.
