Announced at the San Diego Comic-Con, Disney has revealed that The Clone Wars will be making a return for one final season. The new season will feature 12 episodes which is expected to wrap up the entire series, hopefully with a satisfying conclusion so that fans can get some closure.

According to the series’ original supervising director Dave Filoni, “I honestly didn’t think we would ever have the opportunity to return to The Clone Wars. Thanks to the relentless fan support and the team behind Disney’s direct-to-consumer streaming service, we will now get to tell more of those stories.”
Unfortunately the bad news is that this final season will only debut as part of Disney’s upcoming streaming service which is only expected to debut in 2019. This means that if you have been looking forward to the new episodes, you could be in for a wait. Then again given that previously fans had already made peace that the series was cancelled, we suppose waiting for a year or so shouldn’t really be too difficult, right?
