Spotify’s latest financials have revealed that the company now plays home to 83 million paid subscribers. This means from then until now, Spotify grew by a very impressive 8 million new paid subscribers. According to Spotify, they claim that their Family Plan is one of the main reasons behind its growth.
For those unfamiliar, platforms such as Spotify and Apple Music offer family plans which allows multiple users to be grouped under one subscription. This is generally cheaper than individual subscriptions so it’s easy to see how many users are taking Spotify up on their offer. That being said, note that the 83 million is for worldwide subscribers.
Some might recall that earlier this month it was reported that Apple Music had actually managed to overtake Spotify in the US market, although it is unclear as to whether or not this new 8 million subscribers might have helped Spotify regain their spot in the US.
