This is according to various reports in which Samsung smartphone owners are claiming that the default Samsung texting app has been sending random messages and even media files to their contacts. According to a post on Reddit, one user claims that around 2:30AM, their phone sent the entire photo gallery on the phone to the user’s girlfriend.
What’s even weirder is that there was no record of these messages being sent in the messages app, and that when they tried to contact T-Mobile, there was no record of these messages being sent either. In a statement made to Gizmodo, Samsung said, “We are aware of the reports regarding this matter and our technical teams are looking into it. Concerned customers are encouraged to contact us directly at 1-800-SAMSUNG.”
T-Mobile has also denied that this is an issue on their end and told users to contact Samsung for help. There is no fix available at the moment and the only thing they can do is revoke the app’s access to storage or to use a different texting app until this problem has been rectified.
