Recently we have been hearing rumors that Samsung could have a new smartwatch in the works dubbed the Galaxy Watch. Now according to a recent sighting at the FCC, it seems that more details about the upcoming watch have been revealed, such as how it could be offered in more than one size.
If the FCC documents are accurate, the upcoming Galaxy Watch could be offered in a 1.19-inch offering and a 1.3-inch offering. Given that the difference in size is 0.11-inches, we’re not sure if visually it will be very obvious or telling, but for those with bigger wrists or hands, we imagine a slightly larger watch face will still be very much welcome.
As for their specs, we expect that the only differences will be in their screen sizes, and that everything else should remain identical. We have heard claims that the Galaxy Watch could be powered by Google’s Wear OS due to its Galaxy branding which is typically reserved for Android-powered devices.
However a more recent report claims that the Galaxy Watch is expected to continue using Samsung’s Tizen OS platform. Either way we should find out soon enough as the Galaxy Watch is expected to be announced alongside the Galaxy Note 9 which is scheduled for the 9th of August.
