Niantic’s Pokemon Go quickly became a global phenomenon not too long after it was released. The title has made a lot of money across the globe and the latest figures suggest that the worldwide Pokemon Go revenue has now crossed $1.8 billion. The title was believed to have cross $1 billion in revenue back in January last year.
Research firm Sensor Tower estimates that the total revenue for Pokemon Go has now crossed $1.8 billion and that worldwide spend on the game is around $2 million daily. Much of the revenue has been generated by users in the United States, around $607 million, while Japan is in second place with $500 million. Germany, Taiwan, and the United Kingdom round up the top five markets by revenue for Pokemon Go.
The report also mentions that 58 percent of the revenue came from Pokemon Go players on Android while the remaining have been attributed to iOS users. Even though it has been out for more than two years now, Pokemon Go still remains a top-10 app by revenue.
Pokemon Go is still listed in the App Store’s top-10 grossing charts in 21 countries across the globe, including but not limited to the United Kingdom, United States, Canada, and Germany. It’s in 14th place on Japan’s top grossing iOS apps chart.
