It’s not common for smartphones to feature 8GB of RAM but things are gradually headed into that direction. At least one variant of the Galaxy Note 9 is expected to feature 8GB of RAM. Huawei hasn’t made a smartphone with this much memory so far but that changes now. Its Honor sub-brand has announced the launch of the Honor 10 GT which is the company’s first smartphone with 8GB of RAM.
The Honor 10 GT is the new variant of the Honor 10 which was launched in April this year. It was first released in China because it was also made available in markets across the globe. It came in variants with 4GB and 6GB of RAM.
Aside from 8GB of RAM, most of the specifications of this handset are similar to the Honor 10. It features a 5.8 inch 2280×1080 LCD display, a Kirin 970 processor, a 16MP + 24MP dual rear camera, a 24 megapixel front camera, and a 3,400mAh battery. The device also has a fingerprint sensor on the home button. It even looks the same as the Honor 10.
Huawei is going to release the Honor 10 in China later this month on July 24th. It hasn’t confirmed as yet how much this handset is going to cost at launch but given that it’s just another variant of the Honor 10, it may only be priced slightly above the 2,599 yuan or $390 price tag of the original.
