The good news is that if you’re a Gmail user who would love to have email scheduling as a feature, you’ll be pleased to learn that in an APK teardown of the Android version of Gmail, the folks at Android Police have discovered that email scheduling could be a feature that is in the works.
The APK teardown has revealed some code strings which mentions “schedule send”, which presumably refers to email scheduling. It is unclear if this is a feature only for mobile, but we imagine that Google will want to make both its desktop and mobile apps share the same features for a consistent user experience.
No word on when the feature will be rolled out, but we imagine that it could come in handy. For example you could schedule emails to let people know that you’ve taken leave, or that you’re back from leave. You could also schedule emails to people in other parts of the world in different timezones.
