The good news is that if you are an Airbnb host, it seems that the company is testing out a new feature that will let hosts get paid earlier. According to a report from TechCrunch, the new feature means that Airbnb hosts will be getting paid 50% three days after a guest has booked their stay, and the remaining 50% will come 24 hours after the scheduled check-in time.
However this early payments feature will come at a price, literally, as Airbnb will be taking 1% of the booking subtotal for those who opt to take advantage of the early payout feature. Hosts can opt out of this if they’d rather not pay Airbnb that extra 1%, which means that it will continue being payments as usual.
So what about bookings that have been cancelled? It seems that in such instances, Airbnb will simply deduct it from the next reservation That being said this feature is currently in testing which means that not all hosts will see the feature yet. Presumably a wider and official rollout will depend on the feedback of the feature.
