The carrier has recently launched a new feature called FamilyMode.which is aimed at helping parents manage the device usage of their kids. According to T-Mobile, “While the carriers’ solutions only cover the devices connected to their networks, T-Mobile FamilyMode lets you manage, monitor, filter and set time limits for your kids’ phones, tablets, gaming consoles, laptops, smart TVs and the other Wi-Fi-connected devices in your home.”
In addition to being able to see how long your kids are using devices for, FamilyMode will also let parents keep track of what their kids are doing. This means seeing what apps they are using, which websites they are visiting, and if they don’t like what they see, they’ll be able to restrict those as well. This wouldn’t be the first time we’ve seen companies launch management tools for families, although in recent times we’re starting to see how more tech companies are creating “digital wellness” features for their products and services in a bid to cut down on addiction.
