Epic’s Fortnite Battle Royale is an incredibly popular game, which we guess is a combination of several factors including gameplay and also the fact that it is free. However as with most free-to-play games, there will be in-game purchases that helps generate revenue for the developers, and Fortnite is no exception.
In fact it was recently reported that Fortnite managed to pull in $100 million from its iOS launch alone, which is impressive considering that the game was only launched a few months ago. That being said, how much are players spending on the game? According to a recent survey conducted by LendEDU (via Game Rant), they found that the average Fortnite player spends $84.67 each.
From those who spent money on the game, 58.9% claimed that they did so for the cosmetic features. 18.06% claimed that they spent money on the game for gliders, 13.52% on harvesting tools, while 9.52% spent money on the game for emotes or the dancing animations. Based on this it’s not surprising that many players seem to be more than happy to part with their money for the game.
As it stands Fortnite is available on iOS, the PS4, Xbox One, PC, and the Nintendo Switch, There are plans for it to arrive on Android this coming summer which means more money for the developers.
