Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Won’t Feature All Stages

At E3 2018, Nintendo officially took the wraps off Super Smash Bros. Ultimate following a short teaser video back in March. The reason why the game is being called “Ultimate” is because it will feature pretty much every single character from every Super Smash Bros. title that has been released to date, along with some brand new ones.

So with all the characters returning to the game, does that mean that every stage will be made available as well? We suppose that’s not a completely unreasonable expectation, but unfortunately that will not be the case. In the latest issue of Famitsu (via Nintendo Everything), they reported on a press event with Nintendo’s Bill Trinen and Nate Bihldorff where during a Q&A session, the topic of stage availability was brought up and it was revealed that not every stage will be brought back to the game.

As it stands it has been revealed that there are around 84 stages or so which admittedly is a lot more than most players would need, but we suppose for the sake of variety it’s not necessarily a bad thing. However it is unclear as to which stages will not be brought back so we guess we’ll have to wait until its release to find out. The game is currently set for launch on the 7th of December, 2018.
