A couple of months ago, the official trailer for Shadow of the Tomb Raider was released. For those who want a more in-depth look at the game, Square Enix is more than happy to oblige as the company has since unveiled a new gameplay trailer for the game at E3 2018.
According to the trailer’s description, “The first gameplay trailer for Shadow of the Tomb Raider showcases the high-octane action, inner conflict, and challenges that will lead to Lara Croft’s defining moment. As she races to save the world from a Maya apocalypse, Lara must master a deadly jungle, overcome terrifying tombs, and persevere through her darkest hour before being forged into the Tomb Raider she is destined to be.”
For those unfamiliar, Shadow of the Tomb Raider is the third game in the rebooted Tomb Raider franchise. It follows Rise of the Tomb Raider which was released in 2015, and Tomb Raider which was released in 2013. It is also expected to serve as the final game in the rebooted origin story and it is unclear as to how Square Enix plans to proceed with the franchise following that.
So far the reboot has been well-received with many praising the games for being more “realistic” and offering a a grittier take on Lara Croft, the game’s protagonist. Shadow of the Tomb Raider is currently set for a release on the 14th of September where it will be available for the Xbox One, PS4, and PC.
