Several new games have been announced for the Xbox One at E3 2018 so far. Microsoft itself premiered 15 games during its press event which means that Xbox owners will certainly need to free up some space on their consoles for the new titles. Seagate has got them covered with its new 2TB Game Drive for Xbox SSD. It’s a flash-speed SSD drive that’s designed exclusively for the Xbox One.
This isn’t the first Xbox-branded SSD that Seagate has launched but it’s now expanding the lineup with bigger capacity options, taking it up all the way to 2TB.
Seagate’s new Xbox SSD is available in 2TB, 1TB, and 500GB capacities. The company promises that it will deliver “pro-level” flash SSD performance for fast gaming loading. The look of the SSD itself matches the branding elements of the Xbox One X consoles so it will look nice as well.
It can be connected to the console with a USB Type-C connector and will deliver read speeds of up to 540MB/s which is significantly higher than the read speeds offered by conventional hard disk drives of up to 140MB/s.
The SSD will be instantly recognized by the Xbox console and can be installed in under two minutes. Customers will be able to purchase one starting this summer at retailers and online for $600, $300, and $150 for the 2TB, 1TB, and 500GB capacities respectively.
