Thankfully Nintendo doesn’t appear to be oblivious to the feedback from its customers, because according to Nintendo of America President Reggie Fils-Aime, he says that the company is working on improving it, especially on the curation front. Speaking to Waypoint, Fils-Aime was quoted as saying, “Improving curation is something that we’re committed to do and we’ve just taken some steps.”
He also points to how Nintendo has already introduced two new categories to the Switch’s eShop, such as separating games that are sold physically or those that are only available digitally. According to Fils-Aime, “We’ve added two new “shelves,” essentially two new categories for you to use to find the content you want. One is an overall best selling category. The other one is a digital only best seller, because from a Nintendo perspective we make our products available dual distribution, and an independent developer might not.”
Are these changes going to be good enough? We suppose only time will tell based on how players engage with it.
