MSI has announced the launch of a new gaming monitor which it says is going to be blazing fast. The MSI Oculux NXG251 is a 25 inch 1080p gaming monitor compatible with NVIDIA G-Sync that touts a blistering 240 Hz refresh rate and 0.5 millisecond response time. The company has aimed this display at serious gamers and eSports professionals.
This monitor does stand out from the competition since there aren’t a lot of monitors on the market today that are capable of hitting 240 Hz. Even though some monitors from Viewsonic, Alienware, and AOC can claim a similar refresh rate, MSI’s Oculux NXG251 still edges ahead with its 0.5 millisecond response time. All of those monitors have 25 inch 1080p panels as well.
The company considered feedback from eSports professionals when developing this monitor and almost all of them asked for high refresh rates and the lowest possible response times. MSI appears to have delivered on both counts.
Customers who are interested in purchasing one will have to wait until the fourth quarter of this year, though, because MSI won’t be selling it before then. When it does go on sale, MSI’s latest gaming monitor is going to cost a cool $600. It’s certainly expensive, but then again, you get what you pay for.
