There are many forms of entertainment, whether it be watching a movie or playing a game, but what if you could do both? According to a report from TechRadar, it seems that Netflix will be bringing Minecraft: Story Mode onto its platform this coming fall, which the company has clarified is not an indication that they will be launching games on its platform.
According to the report, it was originally suggested that Netflix could be getting into games with Minecraft. However according to Netflix who has since responded to the report, Minecraft; Story Mode will be a 5-episode interactive narrative series. Netflix launched interactive series back in 2017 and this will simply be part of that.
Netflix also said, “We don’t have any plans to get into gaming. There’s a broad spectrum of entertainment available today. Games have become increasingly cinematic, but we view this as interactive narrative storytelling on our service.” It is interesting to see how Minecraft has evolved from the game that it was when it first launched.
Minecraft can be found on mobile devices, PC, consoles, used for educational purposes, toys, and more. We’re not sure how well-received Minecraft: Story Mode will be when it launches, but given its popularity we wouldn’t be surprised if many kids will take to it.
