Microsoft’s Surface Pro lineup has been very well received so far and it appears that the company is looking to kick things up a notch next year with the Surface Pro 6. According to a new report, Microsoft is going to launch a “heavily redesigned” Surface Pro 6 in 2019, assuming that’s what the next product in this lineup will end up being called.
The report doesn’t really go into a lot of detail about what this redesign is going to bring to the table, but it does mention that Microsoft might release refreshed versions of the existing Surface Pro later this year before it introduces the redesigned model in 2019.
The refreshed model is said to feature the latest 8th generation Core processors from Intel. There’s also speculation that Microsoft might release a refreshed Surface Laptop later this year with the latest processors from Intel but there’s no confirmation as yet if this device or the refreshed Surface Pro will get a USB Type-C port.
Recent reports have also suggested that Microsoft is working on cheaper Surface tablets that will cost around $400 to compete with Chromebooks and iPads. It’s not known at this point in time when the company is planning on launching these tablets.
