The good news is that Apple is fixing that with iOS 12. While Apple did not announce the changes during its presentation of iOS 12 at WWDC 2018, iPhone X users have noticed the changes in the beta release of the update. Basically what Apple did is that when your phone is locked and the display is off, the ability to grab a screenshot has been disabled.
For those unfamiliar with the problem, the iPhone X grabs screenshots with a button combination of the volume up and power buttons. However like we said, the way the buttons have been positioned means that it’s easy to take a screenshot when you reach for your phone and grab it by the sides.
However with these changes to iOS 12, it means that silly and unnecessary screenshots should be a thing of the past. Of course this doesn’t apply when the screen is on which means that you could still trigger screenshots, but we suppose in theory this should cut down on accidental ones.
