Ahead of E3 2018, we have been hearing multiple rumors that Epic’s Fortnite could be coming to the Nintendo Switch. The good news for those who are looking forward to playing the game on their Switch, you’ll be pleased to learn that it is official, but not only that, it also seems that the game is now available for download.
This means that you’ll be able to get your hands on the game right now and start playing straight away. The Switch version of Fortnite will play exactly the same as the other versions where players will be able to duke it out with other players in online play. However there is also the option of local wireless play if you just want to play against your friends.
According to Nintendo’s announcement, Fortnite for the Switch will also support cross-play and cross-progression. This means that you get to play with other Fortnite players from other platforms, and if you link your Epic account to the game, it means that you’ll be able to switch different platforms but maintain the progress that you’ve built up so far.
For example if you’re playing on the Switch but want to continue on your phone, you’ll be able to pick up where you left of. Like we said the game is already available for download so head on over to the Nintendo Switch eShop if to get it.
